Shahroz's New Single KING Dominates as Basketball Anthem

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, September 30, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ — New Jersey artist Shahroz releases his new single “KING”, which has taken the music and basketball world by storm.

KING is an up-tempo, loud, and energetic record riddled with basketball metaphors. “I wanted to create the ultimate basketball anthem that would be played across arenas and used by basketball players at all levels to get pumped up before games. I had an opportunity to submit the song to NBA2K and the NBA through UnitedMasters, so I couldn’t pass that up.” The song has been used in a promotional video for the new video game NBA 2K20, amassing over 200,000 views. The Portland Trailblazers quoted Shahroz’s line about NBA superstar Damian Lillard in a recent tweet and the song has even been mentioned by NBA players such as Enes Kanter.

Recently, Shahroz partnered with the social media titan BallisLife on a mixtape highlight reel of the #1 ranked basketball player in the class of 2021, Jonathan Kuminga, which featured KING as the soundtrack. Don’t be surprised if you hear the single on a later soundtrack update for NBA 2K20.

Shahroz is best known for his breakout in 2012 when he released a single featuring fellow NJ native, Joe Budden. The song was promoted by DJ Funkmaster Flex and generated a large buzz for the young artist. “I was like 20 years old when we did that record with Budden. He was my favorite rapper at the time, and to be able to hang out and work on music with him in the studio for like 6 hours was surreal. It opened a lot of doors for me.”

Shahroz went on to graduate from law school after having worked at Warner Bros. Records. His knowledge of the music industry led to him creating 92F Entertainment, a music agency that was seeded by Bervann Capital. Taking elements from the recent musical developments with The Pineapple Thief, as well as an ambition to experiment with his own sound, All This Will Be Yours is an album of acoustic and personal vision from Bruce Soord. Described by Soord as an observational record, it is inspired by the joy felt by the birth of his third child juxtaposed by the local deprivation in his hometown.

Bruce explains, “Emotionally it was a pretty unique & eventful time, my wife was due to have our 3rd child at any time but she managed to come to see the final date of the TPT tour at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, after the show that night we returned home to Yeovil and the next day our baby girl arrived. So, we had this new life in our lives and it introduced a very different perspective on the world around me. I was totally inspired and started writing almost immediately.”

He continues, “You’d like to think that something as simple as having a child shouldn’t impact on how you view things, but even the sight of a serene, sleeping baby in my studio while I was writing and recording, impacted on how I was inspired to write. I was still observing. Taking walks in my hometown, witnessing the deprivation, the ‘incarcerated souls’ shuffling to my local drug den ‘number 158’, the screaming children on their commute to school. And the incessant sounds of sirens. I would take a mobile recorder out with me and some of these sounds made it onto the record. The kids, an old man walking along the street singing outside my house (‘Our Gravest Threat Apart’). And the sirens. The sirens appear throughout the record.”

The sound of All This Will Be Yours features modern production elements, as well as acoustic guitars delicately layered with samples. Ever present are Soord's familiar vocals, which deliver an emotive and accessible view into his contrasting feelings when writing about austerity whilst his newborn dozed in the studio. The audio has been recorded as two continuous linear pieces to replicate the pleasure of listening to an album on vinyl and was mastered by fellow The Pineapple Thief member Steve Kitch.

The new album, All This Will Be Yours, builds on Soord's momentum gained by The Pineapple Thief's multiple headline Europe and UK tours in support of 2018 UK #1 Rock album Dissolution and 2016 summer hit album Your Wilderness. November 2019 sees The Pineapple Thief embark on their first North American tour. A prolific musician, Soord has also previously collaborated with Katatonia’s Jonas Renkse on fan-favourite album Wisdom of Crowds and produced 5.1 mixes for the likes of Katatonia, Opeth & Anathema.

The immersive mix studio, built on the top floor of the city’s historic Jacaranda Club, provides full spatial audio mixing and mastering for cinemas, home theatre & headphone playback, bringing expertise in the emerging sound technologies set to transform the music, film and broadcast industries to the UK’s Music City for the very first time.

Immersive or 3D audio is a high definition format currently being adopted at a rapid rate, with Amazon’s recently announced Echo Studio device and Apple’s new iPhone 11 both supporting the technology.

Announced last year, the immersive studio represents only the first stage of Jacaranda Studios’ development, with a larger facility in the advanced stages of planning with Merseyside-based businesses and scheduled for completion early 2020.

Immersive Audio – sometimes referred to as Spatial or 3D audio – offers listeners a 360 sound experience far enhanced to traditional stereo. Reflecting on his composition process, Hawkins shares some insight about his creative methods and motivations. “This album is based on the fundamentals of energy currents, the building blocks to all electronic music. I wanted to capture the powerful, raw, undulating currents that create the life and breath of electronic music. I wanted to learn from and know these currents as I would know a human being. To listen to each voice, to know their own unique life cycles as they come into being one moment and dissolve into the next.”

Modular synthesis is a unique art form, both from a creative process and a listening experience. The sounds are unique and have a sonic footprint or personality. Building these sonic personalities into a moving sonic journey is like sculpting something that is infinite. Hawkins suggests that “the universe is electric and we all are just medium through which this electricity flows endlessly.”

“I wanted to create music entirely on a modular system, using no keyboards. Throughout the album, I incorporated tape loop recording techniques and used natural sounds that I recorded. In the track ‘Torus Energy,’ I even pulled audio off of my old video tape of a Tibetan dance I recorded when I traveled to India in 1994. I recorded sounds of a small local music festival, so that I could weave it into the tracks, ‘Dream Meditation’ Parts 1 and 2. I wanted to embrace not only electrical energy from the modular, but also electrical energy found in nature and elsewhere. I believe this gives 21 PULSE ECLIPSE more of an organic experience.”

The title track was composed and recorded during a full solar eclipse. Eclipses have their own very special energy about them and throughout history they are steeped in deep lore. “I wanted to sit down in front of the modular synth the day of the eclipse to — as I would like to think — pull down that unique energy of the eclipse and let it evolve through the modular synth, as the eclipse evolves through its cycle. I did notice that there was a particular ‘pulse’ of energy associated with this solar eclipse and this pulse also showed up musically. The 21 is not only the date of the eclipse, but is considered by many esoteric texts as a divine number and is very sacred. It was quite an experience for me.”

Infinite, timeless, unrestrained, visionary; any number of words could be used to describe the enigmatic soundscapes of 21 Pulse Eclipse, as Bart Hawkins uses the power of sound to break the barriers of the finite experience, simultaneously reaching inward and outward to explore the currents of an ever-expanding electronic dream. Berlin-School, Classic EM, Sequencer, and Deep Listening are all apt style and genre descriptors for Hawkins' impressive debut release.

Bart Hawkins is an electronic music composer with an emphasis in modular synthesis. Bart’s dedication to the inner sonic landscapes began in the early 80’s when he started practicing Zen Meditation and his discovery of the Berlin School style of electronic music. The young Puerto Rican vocalist; and song writer, recently signed a record deal with longtime indie record label MVB RECORDS. MVB RECORDS is wasting no time in getting Jewels ready for the spotlight, and she recently had her very first photo shoot in Brooklyn, New York. Her record label placed longtime label rep Xiomarie Segura in charge of Jewels' first photo shoot, and they also hired a handful of other people to make sure that everything went well.

The purpose of the photo shoot was for the label to have many photos of Jewels on hand to use for future cover artwork designs, social media marketing, and possible flyers and posters for street promotions. Jewels' hair and makeup was done by Xiomarie who has been working with MVB since 2006, when the the company first started. Jewels' wardrobe was put together by popular stylist "Looks By Lunden", and her pictures were taken by up-and-coming photography company "Photography By Dash".

The label said that Jewels' first photo shoot of 2019 was such a success that they used one of the pictures from the shoot for the cover artwork of Jewels' first single "Fallin", which will be released on September 28th, 2019. Even before her first single is released Jewels is already hard at work writing her second single, and her record label is sparing no expense with Jewels' recording process; the label is going as far as scheduling eight hour studio sessions for Jewels.
