HIP Video Promo presents: Greg Hoy & The Boys premiere their electrifying new music video "Green" on The Big Takeover

Greg Hoy & The Boys

Greg Hoy & The Boys

The track is pop-rock perfection with zero pretension. Bright and upbeat, while the lyrics are a bit more wary – although delivered with spirited aplomb.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, January 23, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Watch "Green" by Greg Hoy & The Boys on The Big Takeover

Greg Hoy is one of those creative creatures who does it all: singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, designer, and indie label owner. He's put out dozens of records under many monikers, cranking out power pop, rockabilly, and heavy riff rock, working both sides of the control room glass. In between, he jumps in a vintage Airstream RV and tours whenever the time is right, which seems like always.

But his latest single, "Green," makes it glaringly obvious that there's one thing this West Coaster can't do: Greg Hoy couldn't toss off an undercooked idea or a phoned-in sort-of-song to save his life. There's a wide-eyed immaturity in all of his work that gleefully manifests itself in youthful, livewire energy and up-for-anything bravado – without any of the, well, immaturity.

Hoy's fans in the press read like a wish list for every indie band that's hijacked a garage in the last 20 years: everyone from Punk Planet and Big Takeover, to Time Out and the late, beyond-great Village Voice shout him out as breathlessly as if they'd just walked out of his show. Greg Hoy & The Boys is a loose collection of friends he calls on to give a backbeat and a bassline to his fuzzed-out rock ‘n roll daydreams. True to form, "Green" is pop perfection and zero pretension.

Killer hooks might get a great rock song into your head, but what keeps it there is the way it elevates a simple pleasure to the most important thing in the world. "Green" is a song about a girl, sure, but the euphoric fuzz, melodic punk, and propulsion contained within these three minutes hit the listener like a wake-up call to jam more life into their life. She's the dancing, elusive, and yes, beautiful embodiment of pure joy. Hoy brings her to life over a track bursting at the seams with distorted, hooky abandon, with subtle nods to masters like The Jam, The Buzzcocks, Guided By Voices, and Superdrag. "Green" and the Enjoy the View EP was recorded mostly live by studio brainiac and curmudgeonly indie icon Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, PJ Harvey) and mixed by the legendary Sylvia Massy (Tool, Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

A woman with striking red hair and an emerald dress dances down the halls of a well-appointed Brooklyn hotel, then up to the rooftop to move and flow against the borough's skyline. She's got a devil-may-care thing going on, so we can't even be sure she didn't sneak in. But if that's the case, all the better: she belongs here, moving and posturing with a wild freedom and joyful intensity against her pretty but tame environments. The band meanwhile rocks it out at downtown NYC's snug, venerated Pianos bar. It's the perfect room for a kickass power trio to play just a little too loud, and it makes us think we probably missed a really good show. Greg Hoy & The Boys are not an act to miss them next time they're in town, and in the meantime, pull up "Green" whenever your day could use some jumper cables.

Noah Taliferro Spaulding

Noah Taliferro Spaulding

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, January 22, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — 1. Please tell us something about yourself.

Well to start, people would call me a “hustler”, and mostly in a positive way. I was able to achieve what most do by the middle of their lives, just in a matter of two years..(right after graduating high school) getting to where i am today, it was never about the hard work, but more of the “smart” work. I hit the ground running and digging and I'm the type of person who wont “die for it” but i sure as hell will “live with it”

2. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

I hate to say thing happen randomly, but in a sense i never planned on being where i am currenlty, and i truly believe that the universe put me in this position for a purpose. My whole life ive been chasing a dream, but i really feel like ive been put in the position im in, for a tru purpose – i flew directly accross the country alone at 18 as soon as i graduated high school, i didnt know what i was leaving to do, but i knew that i wanted to have a platform so my voice is heard and i can give the ones around e a voice. So me being me and the heart i have, I've been able to quickly gain an amazing network of friends and business relationships that have put myself in a very good position in such a short period of time

3. Who are your role models?

I get this question alot, and id have to say myself. I dont see what others do and envisioning myself getting in their shoes, but i do see myself surpassing those who have made an impact in this world, and i really get my “drive and motivation” from evey single person i interact with. I’m always chasing my last accomplishment, i just want to beat myself over and over again

4. What inspires you?

People who care. When i see people who genuinely care about life, others, etc, that keeps me going, knowing that i can REALLY give as many people a voice as possible

5. Please tell us about your company (if you are CEO or entrepreneur) / book (if you are author) /art (if you are artist) / film (if you are filmmaker)

I am the co-founder and part owner of WHP Entertainment, we are a fully fledged record label and entertainment production company co owned by my parter Amir Ben-Yohanan, whos the CEO of West of Hudson Properties, as well as I’m the CEO of TE (Taliferr Ent.) my independet production company, which im the exec prod, writer, and creator of “defining change”, which has a joint venture with 13films. And lastly I'm an artist to my own label which we have my first ever music video “welcome to the stage” dropping this month

6. What’s your most memorable experience?

Flying across the country at 18 alone with nothing but a few hundred bucks and a desire

7. How are you using different social media channels/online marketing to market your work?

a lot of influence push, with pay to plays pr pay to posts

8. What’s your greatest fear?

Getting to the end of my life knowing that I wasn't able to accomplish everything that i know i was able to reach

9. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

I wish I understood the business, I kind of had to learn as I went

10. What are the success strategies/secrets that helped you in your journey?

PUT YOURSELF FIRST, and i don't say that in a selfish way, I truly mean that. if you don't put yourself first, no one will. and that tied into just being “myself”.

11. What keeps you going when things get tough?

The fact that I have people who rely on me, people who in a sense NEED me

12. How can people connect with you?

Directly Instagram– I'm always on there, haha. But in directly, just relate to me and be real with me

13. Any message for our readers…

Don't chase for something that is safe or already has been done, chase for whats stupid out of this world

It is New Year’s Day in Paris! Madeleine Fleury, diva of the French Opera, must dine with someone. It is a must! Three gentlemen callers, a Chevalier, a Duke, and an Artiste, all visit Madame. The invitation is extended but alas each has the same exact excuse . . . “I am honored and would love to dine with you – shrug – but tonight, I really must dine with Mama!” What’s a Diva to do? Madeleine is a rare, one-act experimental black box opera circa 1914. The Metropolitan Opera Company produced it for soprano Frances Alda. It was historic and completely misunderstood. Come explore this daring work by Victor Herbert with the VHRP LIVE! creative team and company.

“Madeleine follows Victor Herbert's grand opera Natoma by three years. It is the composer's attempt to set dialogue to music much as is done today. While it has been performed since 1914, often it is concertized which usually does not work. There is so much emotion on each page that this 55-minute work needs staging and direction which VHRP LIVE! is providing with this production,” says VHRP LIVE! Artistic Director, Alyce Mott.

Madeleine is presented by VHRP LIVE! and features the voices of Claire Leyden, Thomas Woodman,
JoAnna Geffert, Andrew Klima, Jonathan Hare, David Seatter, Keith Broughton and Shane Brown.

Music Director/Pianist-William Hicks
Conductor-Jestin Pieper
Stage Director-Alyce Mott
Supported by the New Victor Herbert Orchestra

Madeleine features soprano Claire Leyden in the leading role, who received praise for recent performances of Heartbeat Opera’s Der Freischüetz:

“Claire Leyden motivated absolutely every move and utterance to a degree rare in opera.”

Flint Tale, a Feature Film about the Flint Water Crisis, Premieres at the Miami Improv on Feb. 3 at 8 p.m.

Fint Tale, filmed in Flint, Michigan, stars Hawthorne James, Erica Peeples, Henry Clay, Tecoya Harris, Sirelle Wilkerson,Titus Thorpe and a memorable ensemble cast. Flint Tale reminds the world that the water continues to cause illness and death in Flint.

Veteran Actor Hawthorne James leads the top cast of Flint Tale, which was eligible for an Oscar and NAACP Image Award Nomination. James has starred in the classic films, “Five Heartbeats” and “Speed.”

Miami’s own Actor/Comedian Henry Clay co-stars as Uncle Clyde in the Marc Cayce Feature Film, “Flint Tale” that premieres at the Miami Improv on February 3.

Director/Writer Marc Cayce and Producer Marie Y. Lemelle take on a tragic situation to raise awareness about the ill effects, mentally and physically, caused by the Flint Water Crisis. Flint Tale is an unapologetic look into a family affected by the toxic water.

Foremost Entertainment, founded by Marc Cayce, is a Los Angeles-based film production company. Its fundamental purpose is to develop and produce marketable film, television shows, music and other entertainment products.

Director Marc Cayce Brings Hollywood to Miami for a Post Super Bowl Event to Shed Light on the Flint Water Crisis that Continues to Cause Health Issues in Flint

I wanted to make "Flint Tale" to remind the world that the Flint Water Crisis continues and the tainted water is still causing illness and death since it began in 2014.”

— Marc Cayce, a Detroiter and USC Film School alumnus.

Flint Tale is about one of the whistle blowers who reported that the local drinking water was contaminated with lead. The discovery created a wave of national controversy and outrage against the local government officials and water district for their lack of action and remedy to manage the health crisis. The 95-minute drama sheds a necessary light on the ongoing Flint Water Crisis.

Cayce, who hails from Michigan, took on this controversial topic in the best platform he does well – filmmaking. "This is a political and conscious story that I decided to fictionalize in a narrative feature film to depict some of the sad realities that continues to plague the Flint, Michigan community," said Cayce. I wanted to make "Flint Tale" to remind the world that the Flint Water Crisis continues and the tainted water is still causing illness and death since it began in 2014."

Based on true events, Cayce wrote a compelling story about disgraced former Police Chief Daniel Hartwell of Flint, MI, his cheating wife, Poppy Hartwell, and his two adult daughters, Destiny and Chasity during the aftermath of Flint water crisis! The feature combines action, intrigue, humor, cultural diversity, drama and tense emotional issues.

The Flint drinking water contamination began in April 2014 when Flint changed its water source from treated Detroit Water and Sewerage Department water, sourced from Lake Huron and the Detroit River, to the Flint River. Officials failed to apply corrosion inhibitors to the water. Five years later, the crisis continues.

"It is the ONLY feature film about Flint, Michigan that was actually shot on location," said Cayce, a graduate of USC School of Cinematic Arts. "It was important for me to give audiences the real Flint and illustrate the struggle in the community." Cayce goes on to add, "We were so close to resurrecting dialogue about the Flint Water Crisis and garnering support from corporations and the government." Flint Tale was eligible for the 2019 Oscar consideration.

One of the co-stars is Miami's own actor and comedian Henry Clay aka "W.W.B.C." which stands for "World's Wildest Black Comedian" is one of the hottest stand-up comics emerging from the South Florida comedy scene. W.W.B.C. is a true testament of turning his life around. After spending a decade in prison, he sharpen his comedic skills and upon his release, took his comedy on the road and performed in national and international venues including comedy clubs, colleges, Alaska for the U.S. military and Nassau, Bahamas. He has appeared on BET's long-running comedy show, "Comicview."

"This movie premiere will launch my "From the Cage to the Stage" comedy tour," said W.W.B.C. "The tour will showcase comedians who have served time or served as correctional officers." W.W.B.C. is on a mission to show that you can be rehabilitated and use the gift of comedy for acceptance. This is Clay's fourth film with Director Marc Cayce who also filmed Haitian Nights, which was shot in Miami and produced by Dr. Rudolph Moise, a prominent physician and lawyer in the Miami-Dade County.

The top cast is led by "Speed" and "Five Heartbeats" star Hawthorne James (Daniel Hartwell) with Michigan native Erica Peeples (Poppy Hartwell), Henry Clay (Uncle Clyde) and introducing Tecoya Harris (Chasity Hartwell). "I am a Detroiter and we look out for our own," said Cayce. "My team scouted for popular locations such as MoPete's and Angelo's to shoot Flint Tale and my casting director Marie Lemelle and I cast natives of Flint, Detroit for speaking roles not just background to bring the authenticity." The then-Flint Mayor Karen Weaver (Term from 2015 to 2019) believed in the Flint Tale movie and made a special appearance in the movie.

Award-winning Actress Peeples was honored for her work as the Honorary Grand Marshall for the 200th anniversary of the city and county of Mt. Clemons, MI and Macomb County. Mt. Clemons is her hometown.

The Flint Tale team of producers are Executive Producer Cheryl Rich, an entertainment industry veteran and a more than 20-year active member of the Aim4TheHeart.org and a former board member for the Pico Youth and Family Center; Producer Marie Lemelle, the founder of Platinum Star Public Relations, former City of Glendale Commissioner for the Commission on the Status of Women, and film and PPV producer; Co-Producer Carole Murphy; Associate Producers Tecoya Harris and Shacola Thompson.

Grammy nominated artist and founder of Century Studios Aaron Bing, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, created a moving original soundtrack that supports the story telling of this dynamic film. Bing also makes his acting debut in Flint Tale.

"This is my 7th film and truly a labor of love," said Cayce. "I am excited to continue the legacy of USC and my mentor the late, great filmmaker John Singleton for bringing authentic stories to the screen." In 2019, Cayce completed two additional feature films, "Sasha Lanes" and "A Day of Trouble" to be released on Netflix.

Flint Tale will premiere in Detroit, Michigan on February 5 at the Emagine Royal Oak Theater, 200 N. Main Street, Huntington Woods, Michigan. The next stop is in Flint, Michigan on February 12 at the Capitol Theater, 140 E. 2nd Street, Flint, MI 48502. Detroit's Judge Greg Mathis will host the premieres.

Releasing a song about girl's dads not liking him.

MIAMI, FL, USA, January 22, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — On January 3rd, NovaCain The Blind Rap God released his newest single “Daddy Issues” on Spotify. Within the first week of its release, music critics were giving the song rave reviews as it received over 35k Spotify streams and over 6k Spotify saves. What are the music critics saying? They are comparing blind rapper NovaCain to Grammy nominated rapper DaBaby.

“Daddy Issues” features hard-hitting 808s and a catchy hook, similar to DaBaby’s Grammy nominated song “Suge.” Where the songs defer is on their overall theme. In the verses, NovaCain describes the reasons why he thinks that the girl’s dad won’t like him. "He ain't gon like all this color in my hair, he ain't gon like that I dress real weird," raps NovaCain.

So how did he come up with this interesting concept? “I was talking to this preacher’s daughter and as she described her dad to me, I told her straight up that I didn’t think her dad would like me,” said NovaCain. With his neon green dreads, diamond studded jewelry, and rapper lifestyle, NovaCain may frighten many dads around the world. In his case, the cover of this book doesn’t tell the whole story.

After losing his eyesight at the age of 18, NovaCain has worked very hard to establish himself as a real player in the music industry. Selling over 11k iTunes units in 2019, NovaCain has remained humble throughout the success. “I’m cocky in my music, but I’m actually a pretty nice guy,” said NovaCain. “Even though I live a rapper’s lifestyle, I’m a very respectful person.”

Today, “Daddy Issues” has over 60k Spotify streams and has been added to over 440 playlists. In just its first week, “Daddy Issues” has been added to Spotify’s “Discover Weekly” playlist and has been receiving a positive reaction from Spotify users. Listen to "Daddy Issues" on Spotify and let us know if you think NovaCain is the blind version of DaBaby. Also, stay tuned for NovaCain’s “Daughter Smashing Tour”, which will be taking place in the Southeast region of the USA.
