LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, July 19, 2019 / — Life-long friends and co-production outfit Dylan Norton and Chris Baines AKA Culture Code, know what they’re doing…

Here at Urban Dubz we receive a lot of promos for artists at different stages of their careers, from people just starting out to veterans 50 years deep in the game. Occasionally we work with artists who have already received the holy Grail of any musician. A HIT. This is precisely what these guys have managed to achieve with their previous track entitled “Make Me Move”. After its release in December 2016 it went off like wildfire gaining 3 million plays in the first month!! At last count it is on 31million! If you don’t believe me go check it out! A tremendous achievement in this ultra-competitive world we call The Music Business. They have cracked the code before and know what it takes to steal the hearts of the public and their most recent release “More Then Words” continues that mould with the same word HIT written all over it!

All the modern EDM elements are there. Great vocal, great balanced production, pleasant unconvoluted arrangement and soft hard dynamics.

“We received the vocal topline from RØRY and were immediately inspired to create the song around the vocals…. The track came together pretty quickly as we were super into it and its definitely one of our favourites released to date! “

The key about this quote is ‘Passion’. Passion is the inspiration that drives the perseverance necessary to craft a great song – and the introduction of a great vocal and a song can make all the other elements slot nicely into place.

The intro involves the gentle Acoustic Guitar line which doesn’t give anything away about the remainder of the song. Drums quietly come in and with many EDM tracks it goes up a notch – and boy does it go UP! somewhere after the first chorus, accompanied by a melodic synth line that’ll have the crowd screaming along to at the top of their voices! Going on current trends, it’s a real Stadium Banger. Perfect for partying with friends by the pool in the heat of the mid-summer Sun. It’s got Ibiza written all over it.

The boys state their influences to include such luminaries as The Chainsmokers, Nero, Illenium, Gryffin, Adventure Club and Seven Lines, which is in keeping with the overall vibe of their sound. Not just studio nerds, they also have a Live outfit and have so far shared the stage with acts like Zara Larsson, Clean Bandit, Sigala and the legendary Craig David.

Check these boys out and watch this tune go all the way to the top. If it doesn’t happen, I’ll eat my hat!

Chief Udoh Releases 'Big Mistake” From The Forthcoming Album "Afrobeat Highlife Crossing” On Uwem Music

Next up, Urban Dubz PR presents to you a real special song from a genre with a rich heritage spanning decades, but one that some of you may never have heard of.

LONDON, MIDLANDS, UNITED KINGDOM, July 19, 2019 / — Next up, Urban Dubz PR presents to you a real special song from a genre with a rich heritage spanning decades, but one that some of you may never have heard of. I’m talking about the REAL authentic Nigerian Afrobeat music made famous by artists such as the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Afrobeat arose explosively in the 70s from popular West African Highlife Music infused with jazz influences and socially conscious lyrics.

Chief Udoh Essiet is a veteran artist, singer, songwriter, virtuoso percussionist and master of rhythm who has been in the business since the 60s, and who has personally worked alongside the biggest artists from Nigeria in the 70s and 80s, including Fela Kuti at the height of his fame – and yes, It’s true, I’ve seen the photos!

We’re delighted to inform you that he has a great new album dropping this year called ‘Afrobeat Highlife Crossing’. The title signifies Chief Udoh’s unique ability to combine Nigerian traditional rhythms with Highlife Music and with Afrobeat – he “crosses” them together. All the elements of these Old School styles are there.

The single called ‘Big Mistake’, dropping in advance of the album launch, is a succulent taste of what’s to come, and I have to say, I absolutely love it! The percussion is out of this world, the bass is melodic, the horn arrangement is next level, the BVs are perfect and the ‘Pidgin’ language Chief Udoh uses gives that flavour of Nigeria to top it all off like a dash of Hot Pepper on Stew! It’s just a brilliant track!

Lyrically, the song is about the 2003 Iraq war and the dubious reasoning behind it – the fact the west didn’t find the chemical weapons they said were there and the terrible plight that Iraq now finds itself lumbered with in the aftermath of the execution of Saddam Hussein. The poverty, the homelessness, the rise of IS, Boko Haram, Charlie Hebdo and the other European Massacres that have spawned since then, and the general bleak outlook for the foreseeable future. Chief Udoh Essiet speaks the cold-blooded truth and tells us to look inside ourselves and fight against corrupt Governments getting us into corporate-sponsored wars and leaving innocent civilians to live with the consequences.

This is the 3rd release on the UWEM Music label. Its motto is “Now is the best time to play the record” and I couldn’t agree more – so… go and check it out now! You won’t be disappointed.

Mutlu’s “Lifeline” Music Video, From Upcoming ‘Good Trouble’ Album – Out Today

‘Good Trouble’ EP Release Date August 9th Showcases Mutlu’s Philly Soul Music Style

PHILADELPHIA, PA, UNITED STATES, July 19, 2019 / — After touring across the nation as a support act with legendary duo Daryl Hall & John Oates, and with acclaimed singer/songwriter Amos Lee, Mutlu unveils his brand new music video “Lifeline” from his forthcoming album Good Trouble. This is his full-length album and it will hit all digital streaming services August 9th. In support of the new release, Mutlu will embark on his solo tour that will also begin on 8/9/19.

“Truth and love is well worth the struggle, It won’t come easy but it’s worth some good trouble” – “Lifeline,” Mutlu

Mutlu coins the title for his Good Trouble LP, from the album’s debut single “Lifeline”. The lead soul-folk track hones in on the importance of standing up for justice even if it’s faced with hardships. Today, Mutlu reveals the follow-up music video to his latest track. Directed by Joseph Grasso, the “Lifeline” video showcases Mutlu walking through different parts of Philadelphia. His heartwarming lyrics are supported by the beautiful sites from the City of Brotherly Love.

Mutlu is ready to showcase to the world his natural storytelling and silk-like vocals with his new record. Good Trouble hits on thought-provoking topics like societal change, inequality, depression, and hardship. However, the album still features two soul-styled songs that emphasize love and connection. Mutlu’s songwriting and vocals will not be the only thing that moves listeners. His rhythmic compositions showcase a rare and retro sound that can be attractive to fans of any genre.

Mutlu has no boundaries when it comes to music styles. Songs like “95 to 5” and his lead single “Lifeline” deliver different variations of soul-rock. “Not Escapable” embraces a bluesy and relaxed reggae vibe while describing the inevitable feelings of anger and exhaustion caused by the ongoing political climate. Good Trouble also includes “Nothing In This Whole Wide World” featuring John Oates, a song that admirably channels that classic 1970’s Philly-soul sound. Together the album offers a cohesive and contemporary blend of music that is entirely timeless.

“Good Trouble is what we need right now. It’s about standing up for what you believe in and fighting for it, be it political change or love.” – Mutlu

Mutlu co-produced Good Trouble with songwriter/producer Darius Amendolia. Darius also co-wrote a few songs including “Not Escapable,” “95 to 5”, and “Work For It”. Additionally, the record was mixed and mastered by Grammy winning producer/engineer Phil Nicolo who has also worked with renowned artists like Bob Dylan, Lauryn Hill, Aerosmith, and others.

In addition to the album release, Mutlu will begin his solo tour on August 9th in Knoxville, TN. The tour will include stops in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Durham, Western Mass, and at Daryl Hall’s venue in upstate New York. On September 29th Mutlu will carry the tour overseas to the famous Amsterdam music venue, Paradiso. Stay tuned for more tour announcements in the near future.

Is this the Netflix for Virtual Reality? 'Metaverse Movies' Seeks to Raise Funding on Kickstarter

Brighton based Showstorm Ltd has announced their ambition to start building an anthology of short story experiences using the immersive power of Virtual Reality

We want to 'Democratise VR.' by offering backers a vote on the 'Board of Producers'.”

— Mark Bellinger

BRIGHTON, EAST SUSSEX, UNITED KINGDOM, July 19, 2019 / — GamestormVR, a division of Showstorm, have launched a Kickstarter to raise money for an audacious project in which they proclaim their desire to become the 'Netflix for Virtual Reality.'

Their Kickstarter project lays out a long term plan for creating an anthology of short story experiences specifically written and produced to take advantage of the immersive power of real Virtual Reality.

These new VR Stories will be optimised for the emerging mid-range standalone headsets such as the Oculus Quest as well as the existing high-end Virtual Reality headsets in the market such as the Rift and HTC Vive.

Mark Bellinger, Managing Director of Showstorm, explains in the Campaign video that they want to 'Democratise VR.' by offering backers a vote on the 'Board of Producers'.

The team's initial target is to raise £25,000, which will be enough to make the first of what they hope will be hundreds of titles.

The Inspiration for these story experiences is taken from anthology series like; Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Tales of the Unexpected and The Twilight Zone.

GamestormVR has also said that they are encouraging screenplay writers to submit their ideas for consideration by the backer centric 'Board of Producers'.

As well as receiving their own copies of the films produced, some of the more creative incentives on offer as rewards include the chance to star in the productions themselves.

The 'Look Mum I'm Famous' reward will see your face appearing somewhere in one of the movies.

Pledging your support with 'The Cameo' gets an actual recording of your voice, delivering some of the dialogue in a supporting actor role!

Can't go wrong with DJ Wong!”

— Dj carmin wong

OSAKA, JAPAN, July 18, 2019 / — DJ Carmin Wong is a rising star, known for her unique mix of progressive house and trance. Currently prepping her first album release ‘Cooling,’ she rocks the house every Thursday night in Sakai, Fukui, Japan serving as house DJ at the exclusive Bee, The Public Space. When people watch and listen to the music emanating from the sexy turntablist behind the decks, they immediately discover “You can’t go wrong with DJ Wong!”

Staying busy with DJ performances, and penning more dates into her heavily booked schedule, Wong says, “DJing allows me to share music with the masses.” Noting her audiences, she says, “In a melting pot like Tokyo, Osaka, Japan, you are going to have everybody. You are going to play a room with people in it from every ethnic group. You can’t just play one specific genre of progressive house and trance. You have to create a style for who you are. For me, I am really into international. I play music that everyone can relate to, enjoy, dance to, move to and groove to.”

Wong, who has also worked behind the turntables for Universal Studios, says she enjoys performing at a diverse range of events.

In September 2018, DJ Carmin Wong DJ’d in front of 500,000 thousand people and also served as emcee at the famed Cherry Blossom Festival in the Little Tokyo section of San Francisco.

In June 2012, DJ Carmin Wong DJ’d in front of 5 million people and also served as emcee at the famed LGBT Pride Festival at Civic Center, in the heart of San Francisco.

In October 2016, DJ Carmin Wong DJ’d at the Glass House in New York City in support for the National Hotline for Domestic Abuse that has served over 4 million calls since the organization began until this day, and many more answered in the future for those who have been battered and abused.

Wong lives in Los Angeles, in its world-famous Chinatown. She explains, “The people in Chinatown are very traditional, which makes it hard for me as a Chinese American, who is not only a female DJ in a male dominant scene, but also because I am a lesbian.”

She adds, “It is ironic to me that other cultures are more accepting of me.”

Born in 7 Mile, Detroit, Michigan, DJ Carmin Wong moved to Los Angeles as a young teen, and became obsessed with the trance scene when she began attending underground parties. She eventually began hanging out with producers whenever she could to learn the tricks of the trade. “I have every music software you can get,” she notes. “I know how to use all of them and how they work. Ableton, Omishpehere, Sonic, FL Studio. The list goes on. I have every single synthesizer every DJ and producer in this town uses in this new age of music. I have spent so much money on software, it’s ridiculous. I can literally compose anything I want. I am always hearing tunes in my head.”
Adds Wong, “I always hear music. Even in my sleep, my dreams.” She is currently producing another album soon to be released.

DJ Carmin Wong points out, “My first name has an ‘I’ in it. My middle name I was given is simply L, the letter ‘L.’ It can mean many things. She is lovely, she’s loud, she’s a lesbian.”

DJ Carmin Wong performed this year at the Orange County Pride, which also feature DJ Dave Aude, who has been received a Grammy, and title of ‘Best Remixer’.

“Music motivated me to be a bigger person,” says Wong, who has chanted in front of the eight foot Buddha inside her parents’ restaurant. “I chant mantras and I believe in karma,” she states. “Whenever I’m stressed out, I go over to tojinbo cliffs
overlooking the ocean.” She says, “My music is going to give you a mantra feeling, like when you chant.”
“I hope to inspire people,” she says. “I want people to relate to my music in every respect.”

Her debut album will be released in 2019, as her first single entitled “windchime’s” is out! In the meantime, her fans are enraptured just to have a chance to hear her on stage behind the decks, she is currently in Osaka, Co-Producing an event called Un-XXXX for Devcon 5, and BlockFestJP, October 7-12th, 2019, for more info.
